Description
Running along the inferolateral surface of the temporal lobe, the inferior temporal gyrus is presented as a continuous cortical ridge on the basal aspect of the cerebrum. The animation tracks it from posterior to anterior, framing its borders against the lateral occipitotemporal gyrus (inferiorly) and the middle temporal gyrus (superiorly) across the inferior temporal sulcus. As the viewpoint sweeps across the ventral temporal cortex, the gyrus remains lateral to the fusiform gyrus (medially) and transitions toward the temporal pole anteriorly.
