Description
Anterior thoracic anatomy of a male child is rendered with the airway and lungs visible through the chest wall, beginning superiorly at the cervical trachea as it descends in the midline and bifurcates at the carina into the right and left main bronchi. Each bronchus enters the lung at the hilum, medial to the lateral lung fields, with the right lung occupying a slightly broader hemithorax and the left lung tapering around the expected position of the cardiac silhouette.
