Description
Anteriorly, the superficial lymphatic collectors are traced from the scalp and face into the cervical chains, then inferiorly along the neck to the supraclavicular region and into the right lymphatic duct and thoracic duct territory. Across the thorax, vessels converge toward the axillary lymph nodes along the lateral chest wall and toward the parasternal (internal thoracic) nodes near the sternum, with abdominal drainage directed to superficial inguinal nodes via the epigastric and circumflex iliac pathways. Medially on the lower limb, collectors accompany the great saphenous vein toward the inguinal nodes, while more lateral channels track toward popliteal nodes before ascending to the deep inguinal and external iliac routes. Bilateral symmetry is emphasized. Obesity-related body contour alters surface landmarks but not the fundamental nodal basins.
