Prominent along the anteromedial thigh, the adductor longus is isolated against the bony framework of a male pelvis and lower limb, with its proximal attachment arising from the body of the pubis just inferior to the pubic crest. Muscle fibers descend inferolaterally to a broad distal insertion on the middle third of the linea aspera of the femur, sitting anterior to adductor magnus and lateral to gracilis in standard anatomical position. Medially, the muscle belly helps define the contour of the groin and proximal medial thigh, while the femur, tibia, fibula, and the tarsals, metatarsals, and phalanges provide distal orientation.
