Seen from a posterior full-body perspective, the superficial back and limb musculature is laid out over the axial skeleton, with the trapezius spanning from the occipital region and nuchal ligament to the scapular spine and clavicle, and the latissimus dorsi sweeping inferolaterally toward the humerus. Scapular landmarks sit lateral to the thoracic spinous processes, framing the rotator cuff region where infraspinatus occupies the infraspinous fossa and tracks to the greater tubercle. Inferiorly, gluteus maximus forms the bulk of the posterior hip over the pelvis, while the hamstrings descend from the ischial region to cross the knee posteriorly toward the tibia and fibula. Blue-rendered tendons and ligamentous structures accent insertions and joint constraints against the visible skull, vertebral column, pelvis, and long bones. Posterior anatomy is where posture and propulsion become legible.
