Occipital Vein

Description

Posterior to the auricle, the occipital vein is traced within the superficial tissues of the occipital scalp and nuchal region of an adult male, receiving small venules from the posterior scalp before descending inferiorly toward the upper neck. Its course is shown in relation to the occipital artery and adjacent superficial veins, with deeper context from the red-stained musculature of the suboccipital and posterior cervical regions.
