Description
Rendered as a semi-transparent adult female head, the cranial vault is opened optically to reveal the cerebral hemispheres with superficial gyri and sulci, positioned superior to the orbits and nasal cavity and enclosed by the calvaria. Red arterial channels track from the cervical inflow toward the circle of Willis region and over the cerebral convexity, while blue venous pathways drain posteriorly toward the dural venous sinuses and internal jugular outflow. Across the face, yellow peripheral nerves radiate from the trigeminal divisions around the supraorbital margin, cheek, and mandible, interlacing with the facial artery and vein as they course anterior to the masseter and toward the medial canthus. External landmarks remain readable. Layering brain, facial vasculature, and sensory nerves in one register helps when teaching where symptoms localize, because the spatial overlap between V1 and the supraorbital vessels, V2 and the infraorbital neurovascular bundle, and V3 around the mental foramen explains common patterns of pain, numbness, and bleeding. Clinically, this is the anatomy behind trigeminal neuralgia distributions, infraorbital nerve injury after midface fractures, and the danger triangle pathways where facial venous drainage can communicate with the cavernous sinus via ophthalmic veins. Venous routes matter.
