Pediatric skeletal proportions and maturation patterns make this view more than a small adult skeleton: relative cranial size, a narrower thorax, and developing pelvic morphology track normal growth, while cartilage models and secondary ossification centers (epiphyses) explain why the metaphysis and physis (growth plate) are common injury sites.
