Description
Palmar anatomy of the left manus is presented with the digits extended, allowing clear appreciation of the middle finger (digitus medius) in relation to the surrounding index and ring fingers. Skin creases of the palm align transversely at the metacarpophalangeal level and continue distally as flexion creases at the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints, mapping the underlying proximal, middle, and distal phalanges. The middle finger lies central on the palmar aspect, with its digital pulp and nail-free volar pad oriented anteriorly, while the little finger (digitus minimus) is selectively color-highlighted in blue along the ulnar border of the hand.
