Captured in lateral profile, the talocrural (ankle) region is centered on the distal fibula forming the lateral malleolus, the distal tibia with its articular plafond, and the trochlea of the talus seated between them. Inferior to the talus, the calcaneus and the posterior subtalar region create the hindfoot contour, while the midfoot tarsus projects anteriorly toward the cuboid and forefoot. Blue kinesiology tape spans the lateral ankle, crossing the malleolar prominence and wrapping around the hindfoot to reinforce the lateral ligament complex and adjacent soft tissues.
