Description
Positioned in an anterior (labial) view, the maxillary dentition is seen within a semi-transparent maxilla, with the first maxillary premolar (first bicuspid) emphasized at the level of the canine and second premolar. Its crown presents a prominent buccal cusp that rises superiorly above the shorter lingual cusp, with the buccal surface facing anteriorly and the proximal contacts oriented mesially toward the canine and distally toward the second premolar. Superior to the tooth-bearing alveolar process, faint outlines of the nasal cavity and maxillary sinuses provide bony context while keeping the crown and root form readable. Two adjacent teeth on the subject’s right (viewer’s left) are color-coded blue to direct attention to a defined clinical or instructional region.
