Description

Lobules cluster around the terminal ductules, and the larger lactiferous ducts converge anteriorly toward the nipple-areolar complex, their course shifting subtly as the animation progresses through sequential projections. Lateral glandular tissue extends toward the axilla as the axillary tail, while the retroareolar region remains a dense landmark where ducts crowd and overlap. Depth cues matter here. Clinically, this is the anatomy radiologists and breast surgeons map when correlating palpable findings with mammography, tomosynthesis, or targeted ultrasound.
