Rendered in an X-ray radiographic style, the male larynx appears as a semi-transparent framework of the thyroid cartilage anteriorly and the complete ring of the cricoid cartilage inferiorly, capped superiorly by the leaf-shaped epiglottis posterior to the hyoid. The animation tracks the airway from supraglottis to glottis and subglottis, bringing the true vocal folds into focus as they span from the inner thyroid angle to the vocal processes of the arytenoid cartilages. Sequential emphasis clarifies the rima glottidis, the vestibular (false) folds superiorly, and the continuity into the proximal trachea inferior to the cricoid.
