Description
Beginning in an X-ray style radiograph view of the female upper abdomen, the paired suprarenal (adrenal) glands appear perched on the superomedial poles of the kidneys, tucked inferior to the diaphragmatic crura and posterior to the peritoneal cavity. The right adrenal sits more superior and closer to the inferior vena cava, while the left adrenal lies more medial to the superior pole of the left kidney, adjacent to the aorta.
