Running from the renal pelvis to the posterolateral bladder wall, the paired male ureters appear as slender muscular tubes descending retroperitoneally, anterior to psoas major and crossing the common or external iliac vessels at the pelvic brim before entering the bladder at the ureterovesical junction. A malignant ureteral mass arises from the urothelium (transitional epithelium) and projects into the lumen, with the animation tracking its irregular contour along the ureteral wall and the resulting segmental narrowing. As the sequence advances, periureteral thickening and proximal luminal dilatation become apparent, linking the focal lesion to upstream urinary stasis. Obstruction is the story.
