Emerging in the left upper quadrant beneath ribs 9 to 11, the spleen is traced as a soft-tissue density posterior to the gastric bubble and lateral to the left kidney, with the animation progressively accenting an irregular parenchymal opacity and loss of the normal smooth splenic contour. As the sequence advances, a focal mass effect becomes apparent through blunting of expected margins and displacement of adjacent gas patterns, including the stomach medially and the splenic flexure inferiorly. Subtle morphological distortion of the splenic silhouette is emphasized frame by frame. Small changes matter. Radiographic suspicion of splenic malignancy is uncommon on plain X-ray, so teaching what can be inferred from density, contour, and organ displacement is the point here, especially when the initial presentation is nonspecific left upper quadrant pain, early satiety from splenomegaly, or unexplained anemia.
