Description
Across the dorsopalmar axis, the animation traces the hand skeleton in anatomical position, aligning metacarpals I to V with their corresponding proximal, middle, and distal phalanges (the pollex shown with only proximal and distal phalanges). Proximally, the bases of the metacarpals relate to the distal carpal row at the carpometacarpal joints, while distally the metacarpal heads form the knuckles at the metacarpophalangeal joints. As the sequence progresses, each ray can be appreciated from radial to ulnar side, with the phalangeal segments stacked distalward and the interphalangeal joints positioned in clear series. Spatial relationships read cleanly: the first metacarpal sits lateral (radial), the fifth metacarpal medial (ulnar), and the phalanges extend distally toward the fingertip tufts.
