Description
Beginning with a normal reference appearance, the animation transitions to a steatotic female liver, enlarging the right and left anatomical lobes and shifting the organ’s contours inferiorly beneath the right hemidiaphragm. Yellow discoloration spreads across the hepatic capsule as fat accumulation becomes apparent, while the falciform ligament remains a midline landmark separating the lobes on the anterior surface. As the sequence rotates, the visceral surface comes into view, placing the gallbladder in its fossa inferior to the right lobe and the porta hepatis centrally, where the portal vein, hepatic artery proper, and common hepatic duct converge. Hepatic veins draining superiorly toward the inferior vena cava are shown in relation to the posterior aspect. Hepatomegaly is obvious. Fatty liver disease is a common substrate for abnormal aminotransferases in adult women and a frequent incidental finding on ultrasound and CT, where increased echogenicity or reduced attenuation reflects triglyceride deposition in hepatocytes.
