Rendered in an X-ray style, the female cerebrum appears as left and right hemispheres with radiographic outlines of the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes, separated by the longitudinal fissure and linked across the midline by the corpus callosum. Inferiorly, the hemispheres taper toward the brainstem, which continues caudally as the spinal cord in the midline.
