Description
Oriented in a lateral full-body skeletal view of an adult male, the tibia (shinbone) is highlighted along the medial side of the leg, extending from the tibial plateau at the knee to the medial malleolus at the ankle. Its anterior border, the tibial crest, is readable as a sharp longitudinal ridge along the anteromedial shaft, while the fibula sits posterior and lateral, running parallel toward the lateral malleolus. Proximally, the tibia articulates with the femoral condyles and the head of the fibula lies just inferior and lateral to the lateral tibial condyle; distally, the talus is positioned beneath the tibial plafond.
