Description
Posterior thoracic anatomy is rendered with the ribs and thoracic vertebrae as the osseous scaffold, flanked by the scapulae and proximal humeri. Along each intercostal space, the posterior intercostal arteries course laterally from the thoracic aorta near the vertebral bodies, then give off dorsal branches that turn posteriorly toward the deep back.
