Description
Viewed from a posterior perspective, the maxillary and mandibular dental arches are presented without gingiva or alveolar bone, exposing the lingual surfaces of the full adult male dentition. Centrally, the lingual fossae and marginal ridges of the incisors sit anterior to the cingula of the canines, while the premolars and molars broaden posteriorly with occlusal tables oriented superiorly in the mandible and inferiorly in the maxilla. Along each arch, the teeth curve laterally from the midline toward the posterior segments, with the distal molars marking the terminal extent of each quadrant.
