Description
Clustered along branching hyphae, multicelled Bipolaris conidia dominate the microscopic field, each spore appearing ovoid to ellipsoidal and divided by transverse septa into multiple compartments. Pigmented (dematiaceous) cell walls give the conidia a darker outline relative to the paler, tubular hyphal elements, with the spores positioned terminally and laterally along the filamentous network.
