Description
Embryo at gestational week 7 occupies the uterine cavity in a lateral section that preserves the maternal-fetal interface. A slender umbilical cord connects the embryo to the chorionic plate, while the amniotic sac envelops the embryo within the gestational sac, and the extraembryonic space (chorionic cavity) separates amnion from chorion where visible.
