Ischial body occupies the posteroinferior part of the os coxae, positioned inferior to the iliac contribution to the acetabulum and posterior to the pubic body. Laterally, its thickened bone forms the posterior and inferior acetabular wall, while medially it borders the pelvic cavity and blends anteriorly into the superior pubic ramus region around the obturator foramen.
