Spanning the dorsal aspect of the calcaneocuboid articulation, the dorsal calcaneocuboid ligament crosses superficially from the anterosuperior calcaneus to the dorsolateral surface of the cuboid, lying dorsal to the joint line and adjacent capsule. Bony landmarks of the lateral column are readable, including the lateral malleolus, calcaneal body, and the proximal cuboid, with the metatarsals and phalanges extending distally. Functionally, this ligament is part of the dorsal reinforcement of the calcaneocuboid joint within the midtarsal (Chopart) complex, helping control dorsal gapping and translational motion during inversion and eversion.
