Description
Arising from the lateral wall of the nasal cavity, the inferior nasal concha (inferior turbinate) forms a scroll-like bony lamella that projects medially into the airway, inferior to the middle nasal concha and superior to the hard palate of the maxilla and palatine bone. In sagittal section, its curved free margin overhangs the inferior meatus, lying anterior to the nasopharynx and posterior to the piriform aperture.
