Prominently rendered in green, the abdominal lymphatics course anterior to the vertebral column and along the posterior abdominal wall, converging toward the cisterna chyli and the origin of the thoracic duct. Deep lumbar (para-aortic) lymph nodes sit bilaterally beside the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava, while pre-aortic groups align more midline around the origins of the celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, and inferior mesenteric artery.
