Right and left ventricles define the inferior and anterior contours, while the right and left auricles sit anterosuperiorly, bracketing the roots of the great vessels. Superiorly, the ascending aorta and aortic arch sweep posteriorly and leftward as the pulmonary trunk courses anterior to the aorta before bifurcating toward the hila; the superior and inferior vena cava align on the right side of the cardiac silhouette as they enter the right atrium. Coronary arteries and cardiac veins track in the atrioventricular and interventricular grooves. Landmarks stay readable.
