Description

Radiographic views progress through anteroposterior and lateral projections, keeping the airway column, laryngeal cartilages, cervical vertebrae, clavicles, and upper mediastinum as fixed landmarks while a malignant thyroid mass is localized in relation to the trachea and strap muscles. That dynamic comparison clarifies why a patient can present with progressive dyspnea, dysphagia, or hoarseness from recurrent laryngeal nerve involvement even when the neck exam seems modest.
