Centered at the pelvic brim, the right and left common iliac lymph nodes cluster along the common iliac arteries and veins as they ascend to the aortic bifurcation. Inferiorly, they receive efferent vessels from the external and internal iliac nodal chains that track the pelvic sidewall, while superiorly their collectors pass to the lumbar (para-aortic) nodes on either side of the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava.
