Description
Seen in lateral profile, the domed diaphragm spans from the inferior thoracic aperture down toward the superior abdominal cavity, attaching peripherally to the costal cartilages and inner surfaces of the lower ribs while blending posteriorly with the lumbar vertebrae via the crura.
