Description
Posteriorly, the male skull sits atop the cervical vertebrae, with the external occipital protuberance and nuchal lines positioned superior to the atlas (C1) and axis (C2). The vertebral column forms a midline stack from cervical through thoracic and lumbar vertebrae to the sacrum and coccyx, flanked laterally by the scapulae overlying the posterior ribs. Inferiorly, the pelvic ring frames the sacrum, with the iliac crests positioned superolateral to the acetabula and the femora descending distally into the tibiae and fibulae, ending at the tarsals, metatarsals, and phalanges. Long bones and joint contours are cleanly delineated.
