Description
Presented in a posterior perspective, the transparent maxilla frames the maxillary dental arch with the right third maxillary molar highlighted, drawing attention to its distal surface, crown contour, and relationship to the maxillary tuberosity. Superior to the molar roots, the floor of the maxillary sinus is visible through the semi-transparent bone, placing the apices in close proximity to the sinus cavity. Medially, the posterior hard palate and alveolar process provide bony context, while the adjacent second molar sits mesial to the third molar as the immediate dental neighbor. Depth cues emphasize the posterior curvature of the arch. Posterior maxillary third molars matter because their anatomy and access dictate difficulty during extraction, sectioning, and management of complications.
