Description
Anterior male lower torso is rendered with a translucent integument overlay, exposing the os coxae and proximal femora in anatomical position. The iliac crests and anterior superior iliac spines sit superiorly and laterally, while the pubic bodies and superior and inferior pubic rami converge medially to form the pubic symphysis. Inferior to the ilium, the acetabular rim and anterior column frame the femoral heads, with the sacrum and lower lumbar vertebrae aligned posteriorly at the pelvic inlet. A red-highlighted fracture line interrupts the right hemipelvis, involving the pubic rami and extending toward the acetabular margin. Pelvic ring disruption matters because it is rarely a single break, and the anterior view helps you track whether force has propagated across the pubic rami toward the acetabulum, where articular incongruity threatens post-traumatic osteoarthritis and femoroacetabular impingement. Hemorrhage is the other problem. Even when the fracture appears bony and localized, associated injury to branches of the internal iliac system, venous plexuses, or the obturator neurovascular bundle along the superior pubic ramus can drive hemodynamic instability, guiding early decisions about pelvic binder placement, preperitoneal packing, or angioembolization. Acetabular involvement also changes fixation strategy, shifting attention to anterior column reduction and restoration of the hip joint line.
