Description
Presented from an anterior viewpoint after a sagittal cut, the sectioned male heart exposes the right atrium and right ventricle positioned anteromedially, with the left atrium and the thick-walled left ventricle lying more posterolaterally. The interventricular septum forms the medial partition between ventricular cavities, while the atrioventricular junctions reveal the tricuspid valve on the right and the mitral valve on the left. Superiorly, the aortic root rises from the left ventricular outflow tract and the pulmonary trunk emerges from the right ventricle, with pulmonary veins entering the left atrium posteriorly.
