Anteriorly, the superficial biceps brachii occupies the front of the upper arm, while the brachialis lies deep to it, draped directly over the anterior surface of the humerus. Medially and laterally, the brachialis borders the intermuscular septa as it descends toward the elbow, tapering into a stout distal tendon that crosses the anterior aspect of the joint. Transparency through the covering layers clarifies how the biceps partially overlies the brachialis proximally, even though the brachialis remains the dominant flexor mass immediately anterior to the distal humerus.
