Description
Iliac ala dominates the anterior pelvic girdle in this anterior view, forming the broad, fan-shaped wing of the ilium superior to the acetabulum. Along the superior margin, the iliac crest arcs from the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) toward the posterior iliac region, while the anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) sits inferior to the ASIS and superior to the acetabular rim. Medially, the iliac fossa occupies the internal surface of the ala and slopes toward the pelvic brim, with the arcuate line tracing an inferomedial contour toward the pubis; laterally, the ala transitions toward the gluteal surface and the superior acetabular dome.
