Description
Centered over the anterior knee, the patella lies within the quadriceps tendon superiorly and continues inferiorly as the patellar ligament to the tibial tuberosity, with the medial patellar retinaculum spreading as a fibrous fascial sheet from the medial patellar margin toward the medial femoral condyle and proximal tibia.
