Seen from an inferior perspective in the male pelvis, the inferior vesical artery gives rise to a prostatic branch that courses anteromedially toward the prostate, approaching the gland near its posteroinferior aspect and continuing toward the prostatic apex. Small arteriolar twigs are implied as they enter the prostatic parenchyma, traveling with the connective tissue stroma rather than as a single surface vessel. The relationship to the bladder neck superiorly and the membranous urethra distal to the apex helps orient the viewer. Vessels matter here.
