Description
Color separates the inferior (diaphragmatic) surface of the lung from the more anterior costal surface, emphasizing the basal region where pulmonary parenchyma rests directly on the dome of the diaphragm. An anterior profile keeps the acute inferior margin in view as it curves inferolaterally toward the costophrenic recess, with the medial basal contour approaching the cardiomediastinal surface.
