Description
Anteriorly, the uterine body (corpus uteri) rises from the narrowed isthmus, its thick myometrium enclosing the triangular uterine cavity that tapers inferiorly toward the internal os. Superiorly the corpus rounds into the fundus uteri, forming a dome that sits above the level of the tubal ostia, while the lateral margins broaden toward the uterine cornua where the uterine tubes would attach.
