Description
A fetus of approximately 32 weeks' gestation lies in a flexed, head-down attitude inside the intact amniotic sac, the translucent membranes catching light against the deep red, richly vascularised uterine wall behind. The body proportions are those of late gestation: the cranium is large but no longer dominant, subcutaneous fat has smoothed the contours of the trunk and limbs, and scalp hair is well established.
