Short, stumpy legs project from the ventral body surface, with terminal pretarsal claws and stalked suckers positioned distally for traction during burrowing through the stratum corneum. Dorsal cuticular striations and scattered setae are appreciable along the body margins, while the anterior gnathosoma and mouthparts sit at the leading edge of the mite.
