Description
Lobulus biventer (biventral lobule) occupies the inferior surface of the cerebellar hemisphere, bordered medially by the cerebellar tonsil and laterally by the gracile lobule, with intervening fissures defining the lobular margins. From this inferior viewpoint, the biventral lobule sits posterior to the region of the flocculus and anterior to the more caudal hemispheric cortex, its folia curving toward the midline as they approach the tonsillar pole. Vermian landmarks such as the uvula are inferred near the midline, while the hemispheric cortex dominates the field. Relationships are the point. An inferior perspective on the biventral lobule matters when you need to orient posterior fossa anatomy around the tonsil, since the tonsillar margin is the structure that becomes clinically conspicuous in tonsillar ectopia and descending herniation through the foramen magnum.
