Description
Presented in posterior anatomical position, the male child’s skeleton is rendered from the occiput to the calcanei, centering the vertebral column as it descends from the cervical vertebrae through the thoracic cage to the lumbar spine and sacrum. Paired ribs curve laterally from the thoracic vertebrae toward the costal cartilages, while the scapulae sit posterolateral to the upper ribs with the clavicles spanning anteriorly at the shoulder girdle. Inferiorly, the hip bones (os coxae) frame the sacrum, and the upper and lower limbs extend distally to the hands and feet, with the humerus, radius and ulna, femur, tibia, and fibula aligned along their respective long axes.
