Description
Anteriorly oriented pelvic anatomy is rendered as a transparent male bony pelvis, letting the pelvic brim read clearly as it separates the greater (false) pelvis superiorly from the lesser (true) pelvis inferiorly. The paired hip bones (os coxae) frame the lateral margins, with the ilium flaring superolaterally and the ischium and pubis converging anteromedially toward the pubic symphysis. Posteriorly, the sacrum descends in the midline toward the coccyx, forming the posterior wall of the pelvic cavity while the acetabula sit laterally as the sockets for the femoral heads.
