Description

Posterior pelvic anatomy is presented with the paired os coxae flanking the sacrum, which is color-highlighted to emphasize its midline position between the right and left sacroiliac joints. Superiorly, the iliac crests and posterior superior iliac spines frame the dorsal pelvis, while inferiorly the ischia descend to the ischial tuberosities, with the ischial spines projecting medially into the pelvic outlet. Lateral to each ischial spine, the greater sciatic notch is clearly profiled, and the acetabula sit laterally where the proximal femora articulate.
