Description
Positioned in the right upper quadrant beneath the diaphragm, the liver occupies the hypochondrium and extends medially into the epigastrium, its inferior border tracking obliquely along the costal margin. From an anterior perspective, the right lobe dominates lateral to the falciform ligament, while the left lobe tapers superior to the stomach. Inferior and medial to the hepatic parenchyma, the stomach leads into coiled small intestine and the framing large intestine. The trachea and esophagus descend in the midline of the neck into the thorax, faintly indicated through the transparent body wall and superficial musculature.
