Description
Posterior cervical anatomy is presented with the occipital bone superiorly and the cervical spinous processes aligned in the midline, while the scapular spines sit inferolaterally as orientation landmarks. The lateral portion of semispinalis capitis is shown as a deep extensor mass running superomedially from the transverse processes of the upper thoracic and lower cervical vertebrae toward its insertion between the superior and inferior nuchal lines of the occiput.
